Here are the results of some of my garage sale activity in the past few weeks. I didn't go last week because I had my poxy accounting exam but I did go the week before and bought a little silver cake stand for $2. I thought it was the most adorable thing and can't wait to have little cakes and sandwiches on it next time I host a baby shower or whatever. And then yesterday I found a matching one, for even less than $2 because it was in with a whole pile of stuff that we paid $5 for. So now I have two adorable silver cake stands.
And the second picture is of a knitting book that I bought for $1. I have borrowed this book from the library at least five times, probably a couple more than that. I knitted the Elmo jumper out of it and consult it all the time for the stitch counts of sleeves and follow the instructions for the neckline. Last time I borrowed it I actually took a photo of the pattern on my phone so I would have it on hand, so I don't need that anymore. So that was an excellent score, very very happy with that.
Last week I had my last week at knitting group before I go back to work. We had a morning tea and it was very nice. Everyone said goodbye and good luck and I got flowers. I don't start my new job till next Wednesday but on Tuesday I have a study group in the morning and then I am going to go to a lecture with my friend Lucy, to see what the Business Law subject is like because I have to do it at some point. I am excited about starting work and a bit nervous, mostly nervous about fitting my life around business hours and making sure the kids are happy and looked after. I am going to give it my very best shot and if it works out that's great and if it doesn't then I will think of something else. You don't know till you try.
