Been a bit absent lately, have been busy but nothing worth blogging about unfortunately.
I have one more assignment to go before I finish my unit and then have to decide what to do next. The government has just kindly announced that in the next budget they are removing the substantial discount for paying your uni fees upfront. Thanks very friggin much, just when I start, how bloody typical. So there's an extra couple of hundred dollars down the gurgler.
Speaking of things that gurgle, our dishwasher has packed it in, so we went shopping for a new one today. And we looked at vacuum cleaners as well. How very domestic.
In knitting news, I am currently knitting a jumper for myself, out of Jo Sharp cotton. I bought it ages ago and it cost a lot of money, and I had a project in mind for it, but then decided not to go ahead, so its been sitting there. I impulsively cast on for this project after a lady at knitting group made it. But anyway, I already hate it. I hate knitting with cotton, and I hate Jo Sharp cotton the most. I am not sure if it will survive, but part of me wants to beat it at it's own game, because if I abandon it then its going to sit there forever, a sad little pile with part of the cotton knitted, from over a hundred dollars worth of poxy cotton, leaving not-enough balls of unknitted cotton to do anything. It does happen around here, but not usually with that much expense.
I have another project which is adorable and I am enjoying. A teeny babby sweater. But more about that later.
I have a few other things to finish off. I am a terrible finisher-offer. A great starter and a great muller-overer, but not a great finisher. I take the finishing work to knitting group because I can sit and yak and it forces me to get it done because there is nothing better to do.
Sewing group has started up at the same place as knitting group now. For two hours every Monday. So I sit and sew for two hours every Monday while someone watches my kids for two bucks. Then on Tuesday I sit and knit for three hours while someone watches my kids for two bucks. Sewing group was my idea. I just need to think up a few more groups for all the other days of the week and I will never have to look after my own kids ha ha ha.
