I haven't written all week. I have been too busy either laying in the foetal position or rocking whilst staring at the wall.
What a week.
I am not ready to write about it yet, and probably never will be. It relates to my last post and I don't want to talk about it anymore.
On a lighter note, I started TAFE, which was good, but I have to apply for some recognition of prior learning to get out of one class or I will die of boredom. They were doing keyboarding skills and the goal was to reach 25 words a minute or better. Oh god kill me now. I type at 70 words per minute and have been for over twenty years.
They are mostly kids who just left high school. We had to stand up and introduce ourselves and say when we finished the HSC and what school we went to or whatever. Ha ha. So I did.
I said "Hi, my name is Sheridan and I did the equivalent of the HSC in 1986. And I went to Feilding Agricultural High School" and they all laughed. Its not even called that now, that's how long ago it was. Well, they asked.
I am the oldest in the class. There is another lady there who was born in the same year as me but her father didn't register her till three years later so he put the year later down on the birth certificate instead because he couldn't remember. This was in Turkey apparently. I didn't know you could do that, Dad why didn't you fudge the numbers on my birth certificate? hmm?
so yeah, there's me then her then about twenty years or so till the next person. Like I care. I couldn't care less about that, I just don't want to do keyboarding skills!
So, if I can't get the exemption then I can see lots of wagging coming up. Just like the old days, ha ha, maybe it hasn't been that long since I left high school.
I told them I loved knitting and that I was going in the Easter Show. One of the kids in my class also loves knitting. He's a 17 year old boy. How funny is that. I thought he was taking the piss, I honestly thought he was taking the piss at first but he was deadly serious.
One of the other boys said he wanted to learn to knit so he could make his own beanies. I laughed it off and then he asked me later on if I could teach him some time during our course.
How...surreal.
