Happy New Year!!

Last night we went to our neighbours and had a few drinks and a barbecue and watched the fireworks on the big screen. We also played a few games on the Playstation which was heaps of fun and we are going to go and buy a few games that are similar for ours. I keep forgetting we even have a Playstation because Steve only plays loud war type games that I can't stand, and he doesn't even play them all that often. But the ones the neighbours had were fun, they were like quizzes and every player had a buzzer.

I didn't think I would make it till midnight but I did. Baden crashed out at about 11.50pm so he only just missed it, but he was very well behaved until then, for a two year old! He really is a good little bloke and I feel really lucky that we can take him with us practically anywhere. He is talking quite a bit now and he is just hilarious. He is obsessed with cuts and bruises, yours and his. One sure way to break the ice with him is to show him your "owies". If he sees one he will point to it and say "sore?" except it sounds more like "thore?".
And if he jumps on you or accidentally steps on you (or not accidentally) and you yelp he will immediately ask "thore?" and when you say yes he will usually say "thorry" and follow it up with "bandaid?". And he always points out "budd" (blood) on any cuts or owies. Morbid little chap.

This morning we got up without hangovers (those days are long over thank goodness) and went for a swim. Its my first swim in our pool this year and it was just gorgeous. The weather was stinking hot, the pool was just right.

2009 has got a few exciting things in store for us. Hopefully including a new baby at some point but I am not quite ready yet, I have a few kilos to lose, I have put on a bit, I put on about three kilos on our holiday!!! grrr. So its back to the gym for me.

And I forgot to mention our christmas presents: I bought Steve some clothes and some shoes and a new Manly Sea Eagles coffee cup because bubby smashed the last one ages ago. Steve bought me a bike. We are going to be a 'biking family' because he already has a bike that someone gave him, we are going to get a child seat thing to put on the back and a rack for the car and go off and cycle round some of the bike tracks that are around our area, there are quite a few.

Baden got his quad bike thing, which he loves, he also got a stack hat, and a toy garage and some cars from his aunty and uncle, and a fire engine and some more cars from Nanna and Pop, and a car racing track (he is obsessed with this) from his aunty. And he got some clothes and books and a whoopie cushion that is proving very popular (it cost $2) and lots and lots of lollies and chocolates. So he did very very VERY well.
