Well, the heat has gone. The wind has come up and the temperature has dropped. I have been either in the air conditioning or in the pool so I haven't really noticed the heat wave that much. Facebook has been full of people complaining about the heat all week and putting up adorable photos of their wee cherubs on their first day of big school. Since neither of these things have applied to me I have had a bit of a quiet week, lol. Aussie kids wear a uniform for all of their schooling and the littlies look heartbreakingly adorable.

I have been doing some sewing of course. I decided to stretch myself and try and sew something and send it away as a gift. It was a challenge because of course this meant it had to be perfect. The recipient (you know who you are, let me know if its okay if I put a photo up, I will chop off your head if you want. In the photo I mean, yah) reported back in a positive manner so I presume the job was done. Yay.

I also made a buttonhole. Just today, I youtubed it and then decided to give it a whirl. I used the button hole plastic liney up thingy that came with the machine but meh, it was kind of annoying. So then I decided to go it alone but it was hard to see the line I had drawn, so I decided to see if the zipper foot made it easier to see the line. Well, after nearly losing an eyeball from a flying broken sewing machine needle I have learned that you definitely can't do zig zag while using the zipper foot. D'uh. Its very obvious when you look at the construction of the zipper foot, but Traps For Young Players and all that!!

Here is my buttonhole, yep, its dodgy and the cotton is not the colour you would use of course, I was just practising, but you can't tell me that is not a bona fide button hole wot a button could go through. It totally is!!
